Valbelluna

A picturesque landscape stretches behind us: the Dolomites.
Named after the French naturalist who first studied them, the Dolomites are striking for the variety of colors they present: from the green of their woods to the darker shades of their rocky walls. It should be noted that they are formed of a particular stone that when lit by the sun creates an optical effect called “alpenglow”, which colors the highest peaks with shades ranging from delicate pink to bright orange or deep purple.

Borgo Valbelluna – The Torre d ‘Ardo estate

The site of Casteldardo nowadays retains a signal tower whose foundation dates back to the Roman period, although the earliest human settlements can be traced back to the Mesolithic era. Nothing remains of this castle except, of course, the tower, which, together with the Ardo River, has become the symbol of the municipality of Trichiana (now a hamlet of the municipality of Borgo Valbelluna).

History
In medieval times this tower was incorporated into a castle. The famous Battle of Casteldardo, which broke out in 1193 and was recorded in an ancient parchment written in the Venetian language, dates back to the same period. This was later recorded on a commemorative plaque, displayed on the facade of the nearby Villa Piloni Foscolo, located nearby. During this battle for control of the territory, which took place between 1193 and 1196, Bellunesi-Feltrini and Trevigiani clashed over possessions in the county of Zumelle, razing the castle of Casteldardo to the ground.

Limana – The Centore estate

After the first Pedemontana toll plaza, the territory offers a wide and fertile valley, marked by the passage of the Piave River. We are in the Municipality of Limana, in a small village where the idea was born: to enhance not only agronomically but also structurally an area where one of the most iconic 18th-century villas in the Belluno area, Villa Zadra, is located. Formerly known as Villa Sacello, it is a prime example of an eighteenth-century Venetian villa. The building features a rectangular floor plan and is built around a square turret. Nearby is the small church of Santa Lucia, patron saint of the village. Framing this bucolic landscape are the surrounding vineyards. Although not owned by us, the estate gains prominence within the context of its setting thanks to its integration with its natural surroundings.

The garden
Embracing the old renovated farmhouse is an enchanted garden, enriched by a series of wooden sculptures evoking elements of nature. Mushrooms, rabbits, cats, and birds grace the entrance, making it one of a kind.

Cesiomaggiore

Immersed in the natural beauty of the Belluno Dolomites National Park, Cesio Maggiore has the appearance of an ancient village with deep roots. The clay-rich soil and altitude of 350 meters above sea level provide ideal conditions for growing premium-quality wines. With an area of 4 hectares devoted to vineyards, Cesiomaggiore gracefully adapts to the slopes of the Cimonega mountain range, gently sloping down between hills and wide meadows towards the Piave plain.

Here, the diversity of the soils and the excellent exposure foster the growth of Pinot Noir and Souvignier Gris cultivars, producing wines that narrate the history and tradition of this fascinating place.

Santa Giustina

In the evocative landscape of the Valbelluna hills, the Santa Giustina area stands out, an area of fertility and beauty. With an area of approximately 8 hectares and an altitude of 400 meters above sea level, this place is home to vineyards that enjoy the sun and breeze of the Dolomites.

Varieties grown include Pavana, Traminer, Rhine Riesling, Bianchetta, and Pinot Blanc, which, thanks to a layout parallel to the steepest line of descent and a spurred cordon arrangement, yield wines of rare elegance and complexity. The historic Villa Tognetti rises majestically against the backdrop of Santa Giustina, a testament to nobility and refinement that further enriches the landscape of this corner of paradise. Surrounded by centuries-old gardens and vineyards, this private villa embodies the essence of elegance and prestige, offering a unique experience of history and charm in the heart of Valbelluna.
